Our Mission
Our mission at the Day Solutions Foundation is to empower individuals with developmental disabilities in the state of Missouri by creating meaningful experiences, providing opportunities for positive community engagement, and access to goods, services and support which help build self-confidence, maximize personal growth and improve the quality of life.
In April of 2016, the staff of Day Solutions, Inc. Day Habilitation Program for adults with developmental disabilities came up with the idea to host a fundraiser. The purpose of the fundraiser was to come up with enough money to begin to cover the cost for community outings so that it was no longer the responsibility of families and the group homes, to ensure that each and every client of the program was able to participate and be a part of the community around them. We began to organize the first, Strikes for Solutions Bowling fundraiser.
We were overwhelmed with joy when our community stood up and showed their support in the amount of $20,000.00. We realized then, that we were meant to serve a much larger purpose and with that, we established the Day Solutions 501(c)3, nonprofit organization. Since our establishment in June of 2016, Day Solutions Foundation, has grown from supporting the clients of Day Solutions, Inc. Day Habilitation program, to supporting teens and adults with developmental disabilities in the central Missouri area.

We also help to support and spread awareness about organizations around us with similar missions including: Stars Night Out, Special Olympics of Missouri, Night to Shine, Wonderland Camp and more. Our group has participated in and provided volunteers for many events including: 5k for Camp, Jefferson City Over the Edge, The Polar Plunge, Night to Shine Prom and more. It is our goal to help unite the many wonderful groups who help serve, and make it easier for families and individuals to find and obtain helpful resources and information.
We now cover the cost for any adult with developmental disabilities to participate in Stars Night Out, which is organized by JC Parks and provides social engagement events twice a month; we offer funding for community outings; Special Olympic sporting events in the Central Missouri Region; and scholarships to special needs camps throughout the state of Missouri. We have formed many partnerships in our local community for activities and events as well.
